Transgenic animals containing APP alleles with Swedish mutation |
abstract |
A novel transgenic animal model is provided. A diploid genome comprising a transgene encoding a heterologous APP polypeptide comprising a Swedish mutation in which amino acid residues corresponding to positions 595 and 596 in human APP695 are asparagine and leucine, respectively. In a transgenic non-human animal having a human APP polypeptide having a Swedish mutation is produced by expressing the transgene, and the polypeptide does not react with APP in a brain homogenate of the transgenic rodent. A transgenic rodent characterized in that it is processed to ATF-βAPP in an amount detected by using an antibody that reacts with ATP-βAPP. [Selection figure] None |
