titleOfInvention | Toner production method |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner manufacturing method capable of easily manufacturing substantially spherical toner particles. A kneaded material obtained by heat-melting and kneading a toner composition comprising at least a binder resin and a colorant and an aqueous medium containing water are placed in a container 2 of a granulating apparatus 1, and a heater is provided. By heating and stirring at 13, the kneaded product is dispersed in an aqueous medium in a softened state. At this time, the loss tangent value obtained by dividing the loss elastic modulus G ″ of the kneaded material by the storage elastic modulus G ′ is set to a predetermined loss tangent value A, specifically, a temperature at which the value becomes 0.5 to less than 5.0. Control is performed so that the granulation temperature which is the temperature of the aqueous medium measured by the thermometer 14 becomes the set granulation temperature T1 which is input to the input unit 17 as the granule temperature T1. By controlling the operation of the heater 13 by means 15, the granulation temperature, which is the temperature of the aqueous medium, and thus the temperature of the kneaded material in the aqueous medium is adjusted to the set granulation temperature T1.
