Disclosed is a thermoplastic resin film having uniform optical properties that can be used for a high-quality functional film and a method for producing the same, because thickness unevenness and streak failure in the film flow direction can be suppressed. A thermoplastic resin is melted by a single screw extruder 22, the molten resin is discharged from the extruder 22 and supplied to a die 24, and the molten resin is extruded from the die 24 into a sheet shape and cooled and solidified. In the method for producing a thermoplastic resin film for producing the cellulose acylate film 12, the extruder 22 includes a supply unit A, a compression unit B, and a metering unit C, and transport of the thermoplastic resin in the supply unit A.
