abstract | Provided is a hologram recording material having high sensitivity and high diffraction efficiency, good storage stability, low shrinkage, dry processing, and multiple recording characteristics (high recording density) that can be applied to high-density optical recording media. A sensitizing dye that absorbs light by at least hologram exposure and generates an excited state, and a dye that generates a color former that dissociates by a base by transferring electrons or energy from the excited state of the sensitizing dye and develops color. A hologram recording material comprising a precursor and any of the bases represented by the general formula (1-1) or (1-2).
