abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide an industrially advantageous method for producing spherical thermoplastic resin particles in which the amount of hydrophobic silica fine particles added to a dispersion medium is reduced and the dispersion medium can be used repeatedly. A water content in which an amorphous thermoplastic resin powder is dispersed in an amount of 0.1 part by weight or more and less than 3 parts by weight of hydrophobic silica particles in 100 parts by weight of the amorphous thermoplastic resin powder in a polyhydric alcohol. Is dispersed in 10% by weight or less of a dispersion medium, heated and stirred at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature of the amorphous thermoplastic resin powder, and then cooled, and then a method for producing spherical thermoplastic resin particles.
