abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an industrially advantageous method for producing spherical thermoplastic resin particles in which the amount of hydrophobic silica fine particles added to a dispersion medium is reduced and the dispersion medium can be used repeatedly. A water content in which an amorphous thermoplastic resin powder is dispersed in an amount of 0.1 part by weight or more and less than 3 parts by weight of hydrophobic silica particles in 100 parts by weight of the amorphous thermoplastic resin powder in a polyhydric alcohol. Is dispersed in 10% by weight or less of a dispersion medium, heated and stirred at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature of the amorphous thermoplastic resin powder, and then cooled, and then a method for producing spherical thermoplastic resin particles.
