Disclosed is a polynuclear metal complex-modified product having high reaction activity as a Redox catalyst and excellent stability. [1] (a) Heat treatment of a polynuclear metal complex having one or more macrocyclic ligands having 5 to 15 coordination atoms and a plurality of metal atoms in the molecule A polynuclear metal complex modified product in which the weight reduction rate before and after the treatment is modified to 5% by weight or more and 90% by weight or less, and the carbon content after modification is 5% by weight or more. [2] A weight reduction rate before and after the treatment is 5% by weight or more and 90% by weight or less by a modification treatment such as heat treatment of a mixture obtained by mixing a polynuclear metal complex similar to the above (a) and a specific organic compound or carbon support A modified polynuclear metal complex having a modified carbon content of 5% by weight or more.
