abstract [PROBLEMS] To provide a novel fluorine-containing material that does not contain chlorine and contains fluorine and hydrogen, which is useful as a lubricant, a cleaning agent, a solvent, a heat transfer medium, a fire extinguisher, a power circulating working fluid, a reaction medium, a desiccant (draining agent), and the like. A polyether compound and a method for producing the same are provided. A novel fluorine-containing polyether compound represented by the following general formula (1). (In the formula, Rf represents a perfluoroalkyl group, and n represents 0 or 1.) This compound is produced by reacting a fluorovinyl ether compound with a polyalcohol compound in the presence of a transition metal catalyst. [Selection figure] None
