abstract |
[PROBLEMS] To provide an electrophotographic photosensitive member that has excellent charge transport capability, excellent solubility in a solvent and compatibility with a resin, and is excellent in both electrical characteristics and durability, and various functional materials. An organic photoconductive material useful as a raw material compound is provided. For example, an asymmetric bishydroxy compound represented by the following structural formula (1aa). The compound is contained in the charge transport layer 4 or the surface protective layer 5 of the electrophotographic photoreceptor 18. As a result, the electrophotographic photosensitive member 18 which is excellent in electrical characteristics and durability and can stably form a high-quality image free from image defects such as black spots is realized.
