An implantable device formed from a polymer mixture. Biocompatible materials can be formed into a variety of implantable medical devices, including intraluminal stents. Polymer devices can be used to form any such device, including stents. Such stents can be balloon expandable or self-expandable. The polymeric material can include additives such as drugs or other bioactive substances, and radiopaque substances. Due to the preferential mechanical deformation of the polymer, the polymer chains can be oriented to obtain certain desired performance characteristics. [Selection] Figure 1 |
