abstract An organic waste containing a biodegradable organic substance and a non-biodegradable organic substance is treated as it is without separating the biodegradable organic substance and the non-biodegradable organic substance, thereby achieving efficient energy recovery. An organic waste is mixed with a methane fermentation residue and subjected to methane fermentation treatment, a part of the methane fermentation residue is mixed with the organic waste, and the remainder is incinerated. Steam is generated using exhaust gas generated by incineration, and the mixture of organic waste and methane fermentation residue is heated with this steam. [Selection] Figure 1
