titleOfInvention | Method for producing polyether polyol |
abstract | The present invention provides a process for producing a high molecular weight polyether polyol (PEP) having a narrow molecular weight distribution even when copolymerized with ethylene oxide (EO), hardly clouding at room temperature, and excellent fluidity. In a reactor, a mixture of an alkylene oxide (AO) having 3 or more carbon atoms and EO is supplied to a polyether polyol initiator in the presence of a double metal cyanide complex catalyst. In the production method of PEP in which an external block chain is formed in the initiator by performing a polymerization reaction, As an initiator, PEP having an average number of functional groups per molecule of 1 to 8, a hydroxyl value of 18 to 200 mgKOH / g, and A% of terminal hydroxyl groups being primary hydroxyl groups is used. The relationship between the ratio of EO (E mol%) in the total mixture of AO and EO with 3 or more carbon atoms fed into the reactor (E mol%) and the primary hydroxyl group ratio (A%) of the initiator is (EA) The ratio of EO is maintained to be <40, and a mixture of AO and EO is supplied to carry out the copolymerization reaction so that the ratio of the initiator to the total mass of the obtained PEP is 3 to 60% by mass.
