abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas purification system that can efficiently purify NO x in exhaust gas in a wide temperature range and has excellent durability. The present invention relates to an exhaust gas purification system S1 in which a plasma device (plasma reactor 1) is disposed upstream of a NO x reduction catalyst 7 in an exhaust gas flow path (pipe P), wherein the NO x reduction is performed. A cracking catalyst 6 is further arranged upstream of the catalyst 7. In the exhaust gas purification system S1, the cracking catalyst 6 cracks hydrocarbons contained in the exhaust gas, thereby preventing the hydrocarbons from adhering to the NO x reduction catalyst 7.
