abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a sliding member that can maintain wear resistance over a long period of time and has excellent durability. The sliding member of the present invention is a low-abrasion sliding member 10 used in a wet environment, wherein the sliding member 10 is a base formed from a polymer material having a methylene group. A polymer film 30 covering the sliding surface 16 of the base material 12, and the polymer film 30 is composed of a phosphorylcholine group-containing polymer chain grafted to the sliding surface 16. The phosphoric acid index of the sliding surface 16 (the peak intensity of the phosphate group / the peak intensity of the methylene group in the infrared spectroscopic analysis spectrum) is 0.28 or more.
