abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing a thermoplastic resin composition for an optical element capable of improving the light transmittance and the coefficient of thermal expansion as compared with the prior art, and an optical element using the same. In a method for producing a thermoplastic resin composition containing inorganic fine particles in a thermoplastic resin, the inorganic fine particles, the organic solvent, and the thermoplastic resin are mixed in the presence of high-pressure carbon dioxide, and then mixed in a mixed solution.
