Gel electrolyte battery |
abstract |
A gel electrolyte battery capable of significantly increasing energy density is provided. A matrix polymer comprising: a positive electrode and a negative electrode using a material capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions as a positive electrode active material or a negative electrode active material; a separator made of a porous polyolefin film; and a gel-like non-aqueous electrolyte; The gel electrolyte battery includes a nonaqueous solvent and an electrolyte salt containing a gel nonaqueous electrolyte disposed between the positive electrode and the separator, but not disposed between the negative electrode and the separator. The distance between the positive electrode electrolyte side and the separator is greater than 0 and 20 μm or less. The positive electrode active material is a lithium transition metal composite oxide, and the negative electrode active material is a carbon material, lithium metal, or a lithium alloy.
