abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a plasma display panel with high brightness. Disclosed is a front substrate 1 on which a plurality of display electrodes 3 and 4 are formed, and a rear substrate 2 on which a plurality of data electrodes 8 and an insulator layer 7 covering the data electrodes 8 are formed with a discharge space therebetween. A phosphor layer 10 is formed by applying a phosphor paste on the insulator layer 7 and on the side surfaces of the partition wall 9 in the discharge space. In the method for manufacturing a plasma display panel, before forming the phosphor layer 10, the coat layer 18 has a surface property that the contact angle of the phosphor paste is larger than that of the barrier ribs 9 on the insulator layer 7.
