abstract A wide sheet or strip-shaped polarizer is provided. A wide strip polarizer is made by extruding glass and stretching the extruded glass, thus elongating a metal or metal salt that produces polarized light in the glass. Depending on the size of the die used, it is possible to form a polarizer with a width of 300 mm or more. A drawing system using two sets of rollers 120, 130 is particularly useful for larger dimensions. [Selection] Figure 4
