abstract | The present invention provides a thermoplastic polyester elastomer having excellent heat resistance, heat aging resistance, water resistance, light resistance, low temperature characteristics, etc., and excellent blockability retention, and an economical production method thereof. A thermoplastic polyester elastomer comprising a hard segment composed of a polyester composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and an aliphatic or alicyclic diol and a soft segment composed mainly of an aliphatic polycarbonate is combined with the polyester and the thermoplastic polyester elastomer. In the production method in which an aliphatic polycarbonate diol is reacted in a molten state, as the aliphatic polycarbonate diol, an aliphatic polycarbonate diol in which terminal groups active with respect to hydroxyl groups are 60 mol% or more of all terminal groups A method for producing a thermoplastic polyester elastomer.
