abstract | A polymer material containing acrylonitrile as a monomer is safely treated to impart hydrophilicity, and the product is used as a polymer flocculant for water treatment to be used for new environmental conservation. By adding an amino compound to a polymer material having a cyano group, at least a part of the cyano group (-C≡N) is converted into a molecular structure portion having an imidamino structure. A polymer flocculant is obtained by converting a part of the salt into an acid salt, a quaternary ammonium salt, or a hydrolyzed structure. Alternatively, a polymer material having a cyano group is hydrolyzed to convert the cyano group into a carbamoyl group, further into a carboxyl group or a salt thereof to obtain a polymer flocculant. This polymer flocculant is added to the water to be treated alone or in combination with a commercially available polymer flocculant. [Selection] Figure 1 |
