PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AMP-activated kinase (AMPK) important for vertebrate energy metabolism, a nucleic acid sequence encoding the same, and a method for using them for diagnosis or treatment of energy metabolism dysfunction. A mammalian AMPK gamma chain and variants thereof having a specific amino acid sequence, and AMPK and nucleic acid sequences encoding the variants. Cells having them and transgenic animals, and methods for screening drugs for diagnosing or treating the above dysfunction using the same. [Selection] Figure 1 |
