abstract | A retardation film comprising RM or LC with low optical retardation, which does not have the disadvantages of the prior art, in particular does not require many separate process steps or high temperature steps and is relatively inexpensive to manufacture. In addition, advantageous methods and materials for the manufacture of such films are provided. The present invention relates to a polymerized liquid crystal (LC) film comprising a photosensitive compound and having a low optical retardation, a material and method for producing such a film, and an alignment film or optical in a liquid crystal display.
