abstract The present invention provides a mesoporous silica precursor solution that has a stable synthesis reaction of mesoporous silica and can be easily applied to a substrate, a method for producing the mesoporous silica precursor, and mesoporous silica obtained from the mesoporous silica precursor solution. A solution in which water and a surfactant are mixed, an alkoxysilane is added, and then an acid is added to make the solution acidic. The weight ratio of the surfactant to water is 1: 1 to 1: 5. The mesoporous silica precursor solution is characterized in that the molar ratio of surfactant to alkoxysilane is 1: 1 to 1:10. In this mesoporous silica precursor solution, alkoxysilane is hydrolyzed to produce mesoporous silica. [Selection figure] None
