The present invention provides an infrared shielding filter excellent in visible part transparency and infrared shielding properties, and a metal fine particle dispersion suitable for forming the filter. A spectral dispersion spectrum of a dispersion containing fine metal particles satisfies the following general formula X. X = Amax / Bmax ≦ 0.25, Amax = maximum value of spectral absorption spectrum of 450 nm to 650 nm, and Bmax = maximum value of spectral absorption spectrum of 700 nm to 1200 nm. The infrared shielding filter formed using this metal fine particle dispersion is excellent in the visible part transparency and excellent in the infrared shielding property. [Selection figure] None |
