abstract | A magnetic recording medium capable of stable recording and holding with respect to temperature and humidity is provided. SOLUTION: A tensile elastic modulus obtained by polycondensation of a diamine having a benzoxazole skeleton and an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid anhydride is 6 GPa or more, a linear expansion coefficient is −5 ppm / ° C. or more, and +5 ppm / ° C. or less. By using a polyamide benzoxazole film as a base material and arranging a recording layer on one or both sides, a magnetic recording medium capable of recording and reproducing with high density and stable against environmental humidity is obtained.
