Cellulose acylate film, production method thereof, polarizing plate using the same, and liquid crystal display device |
abstract |
Disclosed is a durable cellulose acylate film that can control a wide range of negative retardation in the film thickness direction, a method for producing the same, high contrast using the film, and excellent use over a long period of time. Provided are a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device capable of maintaining visibility. A dope containing cellulose acylate satisfying the following (a) and (b) is formed by a solvent cast method, followed by stretching to obtain a film. A polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device are produced using the film. (A) At least one of the three hydroxyl groups of the glucose unit of cellulose is substituted with an acyl group having a polarizability anisotropy Δα2.5 × 10 −24 cm 3 or more. A degree of substitution P A by acyl group is (b) wherein [Delta] [alpha] is 2.5 × 10 -24 cm 3 or more, [Delta] [alpha] is the degree of substitution with acyl groups is less than 2.5 × 10 -24 cm 3 is P B 2P A + P B > 3.0 and P A > 0.2 are satisfied.
