titleOfInvention | X-ray radiographic contrast medium and radiopaque polymer material for medical devices |
abstract | A non-leachable radiographic contrast agent capable of providing contrast intensity enhancement, and a radiopaque polymeric material that can be easily prepared from a non-eluting radiographic contrast agent and a general biodegradable monomer. It has been demanded. The present invention discloses an X-ray imaging contrast agent containing a plurality of aromatic groups, each aromatic group being substituted with at least three halogen atoms. The radiographic contrast agent can initiate the polymerization process. The present invention also discloses a radiopaque polymeric material comprising a biodegradable polymer having at least one radiographic imaging moiety covalently bonded thereto. The radiopaque polymeric material increases the contrast intensity in the radiographic image. The radiopaque polymeric material can be applied to at least a portion of one surface of the medical device. The radiopaque polymeric material can be used to construct a medical device or a component thereof, or a portion of a component of a medical device. [Selection figure] None |
