abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester having no coloring problem, excellent in flame retardancy, and applicable to clothing fibers, industrial material fibers and the like. SOLUTION: An organic phosphorus compound is copolymerized as a phosphorus atom in a polyester in an amount of 500 to 15000 ppm, contains 30 to 250 ppm of a magnesium compound in which a coating layer made of titanic acid is formed, and has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.55 or more.
