titleOfInvention | Synergistic combination therapy to treat vitiligo |
abstract | A synergistic treatment for vitiligo is provided. Major treatments for the treatment of pigmented diseases characterized by vitiligo-spotted depigmentation of the skin include psoralen + UV-A, steroids, basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) peptide lotions or surgery Treatment. While psoralen + UV-A is effective in about 50% of cases, steroids show limited efficacy only in the case of fast-diffusing vitiligo and often recur when treatment is stopped. Any combination therapy consisting of topical application of the peptide lotion on vitiligo spots in combination with any other treatment for vitiligo treatment can also act synergistically.
