abstract [Objective] To extract a seaweed glycoprotein from a seaweed extract and to provide a novel peptide having a prolyl endopeptidase inhibitory activity from the seaweed glycoprotein. [Constitution] Dry powder of seaweed (Wakame, Okinawa mozuku, arame, kombu, hijiki, hondawala, akamoku, seaweed, etc.) is extracted with a weak alkaline aqueous solution, and then ethanol fractionated to obtain a seaweed-derived glycoprotein. Further, a novel seaweed glycoprotein-derived peptide obtained by cleaving into a sugar chain and a peptide chain and then isolated and purified by reverse phase HPLC is Ile-Lys-Pro-Gly-Val-Val-Val-Ala-Ala-Ala. -Ile-Val-Gly-Gly-Tyr, has a prolyl endopeptidase inhibitory activity, has an anti-amnesic effect in vivo, and has extremely low toxicity.
