abstract [Problem] To provide a novel production method capable of producing 4-acetyl-1-benzyl-4-phenylpiperidines in a high yield by using a raw material cheaper than conventional methods. 4-cyano-1-benzyl-4-phenylpiperidine is reacted with halogenomethylmagnesium, and then the reaction product is reacted with water in the presence of an acid.
