abstract |
A rare earth-based tape-shaped oxide superconductor having excellent characteristics is produced using a substrate having excellent surface smoothness and orientation. A Ni-W alloy formed to a predetermined thickness by cold working is subjected to an orientation heat treatment at a temperature of 900 to 1300 ° C. to produce a biaxially oriented tape, and this tape is subjected to electropolishing. Then, an intermediate layer 2 made of Ce—Zr—O film and an intermediate layer 3 made of Ce—Gd—O film are sequentially formed on the surface of the tape-like substrate 1 having a surface smoothness of 5 nm or less, and then oxidized thereon.
