abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the sulfur poisoning recovery processing time or lower the temperature capable of sulfur poisoning recovery processing without lowering the PM combustion amount during PM regeneration processing and without excessively raising the temperature of the particulate filter. It is possible to provide an exhaust emission control device that can improve efficiency and improve fuel efficiency and maintain catalyst purification capability. An exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a plasma injector having a plasma reforming unit in an exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine in which a particulate filter carrying an exhaust gas purification catalyst is disposed in an exhaust passage. In order to perform sulfur poisoning recovery processing of the exhaust purification catalyst when the combustion processing of particulate matter collected by the curate filter is not performed, it is brought about by plasma reforming from fuel in advance by a plasma injector.
