| abstract |
A compression apparatus for efficiently compressing a mat having a wood component and a binder. A press assembly comprising a plurality of aligned press modules having a lower platen and an upper platen disposed in opposition, wherein the press module defines a passage through the press assembly. A press assembly is shown. A wood fiber mat containing resin is fed into the passage, the upper and lower platens are driven along a synchronized circular travel path, the mat is compressed between the platens and passes through the passage by the platen.
