Toner manufacturing method, toner, image forming method, and image forming apparatus |
abstract |
A toner manufacturing method and a toner capable of obtaining a narrow particle size distribution by freely adjusting the size of toner particles. According to the present invention, a step of preparing a colorant dispersion by mixing a reactive emulsifier and a colorant, and having one or more reactive functional groups having a hydrophilic group and a hydrophobic group. A step of mixing a macromonomer containing one or more polymerizable monomers and a polyfunctional polyester with a colorant dispersion to produce a toner composition; and a step of emulsion-polymerizing the composition in a medium. A method for producing a toner including a step of separating and drying the polymerized toner, a toner produced using the production method, an image forming method using the toner, and an image forming apparatus containing the toner. Provided. Not only is it easy to adjust the toner particle size, particle distribution and shape, but it is also very advantageous from an environmental point of view because it minimizes the cleaning process and reduces the amount of waste water generated.
