abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment liquid capable of efficiently imparting aldehydes (particularly formaldehyde) removal performance to a carrier such as a tobacco filter material. A treatment liquid is composed of a polysaccharide having an amino group (such as chitosan) and a plasticizer for a carrier. Usually, the treatment liquid is a dispersion in which a plasticizer is a liquid plasticizer at normal temperature and a polysaccharide having a powdery amino group is dispersed in the plasticizer. In the treatment liquid, the proportion of the polysaccharide having an amino group is about 10 to 150 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the plasticizer. Such a treatment liquid is particularly useful for treating a tobacco filter material because it is excellent in selective removal of formaldehyde. [Selection figure] None
