titleOfInvention | Process for producing optically active penicillamine |
abstract | The present invention provides an efficient method for producing optically active L-penicillamine and D-penicillamine, which are important as intermediates for the production of various industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A penicillamine amide, which is a DL mixture, is allowed to act on a microbial cell or a treated product of a microorganism having an activity of stereoselectively hydrolyzing the amide bond of L-penicillamine amide, and the produced L-penicillamine and the residue are reacted. The resulting D-penicillamine amide is reacted with an aldehyde, a ketone, or an acetal (ketal) to give thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid and thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid amide, respectively. By ringing, it becomes possible to produce high-quality optically active L-penicillamine and D-penicillamine at high yield and low cost. [Selection figure] None |
