abstract Disclosed is a multicolor pattern coating composition that is excellent in water resistance, weather resistance, and the like and is suitable as an exterior coating. A colored water-based paint (I) containing a synthetic resin emulsion (a), a gel-forming substance (b), and a color pigment (c) is dispersed in an aqueous medium (II) containing a gelling agent (d). In the multi-color paint composition containing colored gel particles obtained as described above, the synthetic resin emulsion (a) is an emulsion polymer of a monomer group mainly composed of (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester. The ratio of the carboxyl group-containing monomer is 3% by weight or less. [Selection figure] None
