titleOfInvention | Method for crystallizing weakly acidic and / or weakly basic compounds |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED To overcome the limitations and disadvantages of currently known crystallization methods. A method for crystallizing a weakly acidic and / or weakly basic compound having an uncharged form and at least one charged form comprising: a) a solution of the compound in a solvent having an initial pH value and an initial total concentration of the compound, wherein the initial pH value is selected such that the compound exists primarily in the charged form in the solution; Preparing the initial total concentration to be selected higher than the intrinsic solubility of the uncharged form; b) adjusting the pH value of the solution until the solution reaches a predetermined target pH value where the solution is substantially saturated and the concentration of the uncharged form is substantially equal to the intrinsic solubility. Gradually changing in a direction leading to a decrease, and c) maintaining the solution substantially saturated while crystallizing the compound. [Selection] Figure 5 |
