titleOfInvention Sex determining method, sex determining reagent, degenerated embryo determining method and degenerated embryo determining reagent
abstract Kind Code: A1 A male / female discrimination method and a sex discrimination reagent capable of easily discriminating the sex of an embryo that has reached a blastocyst in a non-invasive manner, and whether an embryo that has reached a blastocyst is regressed at an early stage A method for determining a degenerated embryo and a reagent for determining a degenerated embryo are provided. An embryo reaching a blastocyst of a mammal is cultured under a predetermined culture condition in a culture solution to which a fluorescent dye sensitive to active oxygen is added, and then a first fluorescence image is acquired. The embryo is cultured under a predetermined culture condition in a culture solution to which a fluorescent dye and a predetermined concentration of glucose are added, and then a second fluorescent image is acquired. The first fluorescent image and the second fluorescent image are compared, and the sex of the embryo is discriminated. Further, an embryo that has reached a blastocyst of a mammal is cultured under a predetermined culture condition in a culture solution to which a fluorescent dye sensitive to active oxygen is added, and then a fluorescence image is acquired. The fluorescence intensity of the fluorescence image is obtained, and the fluorescence intensity is compared with a preset threshold value to determine whether or not the embryo is regressed.
