A mesoporous carbon composite with reduced surface resistance, a method for producing the mesoporous carbon composite, a supported catalyst including the mesoporous carbon composite, and a fuel cell using the mesoporous carbon composite are provided. Mesoporous carbon comprising mesoporous carbon having mesopores, a conductive polymer coated only on the outer surface of mesoporous carbon, and an organic electrolyte comprising a lithium salt and an organic solvent A carbon composite, a production method thereof, a supported catalyst containing the carbon composite, and a fuel cell including an electrode containing the carbon composite. As a result, the surface is coated with the conductive polymer, the surface resistance is reduced, and electric energy can be efficiently transmitted. Such a mesoporous carbon composite can be used as a conductive material for an electrode for a fuel cell or a catalyst support for an electrode, and particularly when used as a catalyst support for an electrode, a supported catalyst containing such a catalyst support is used.
