abstract |
A dot diameter can be controlled in a wider range. An application unit that includes a first liquid containing a color material diffusion preventing agent and a second liquid containing the color material, and applies the first liquid to a recording medium; Droplet ejection means for ejecting the second liquid onto the recording medium provided with the liquid, and radiation irradiating means for irradiating the recording medium onto which the second liquid has been ejected. And an image forming apparatus comprising: a control unit configured to control a time from when the second liquid is deposited to when the radiation is applied based on droplet ejection information of the droplet ejection unit.
