abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide an image sensor that can perform high-quality and high-speed operation and can be reduced in price. An image sensor includes a glass substrate, a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements made of an organic material, a plurality of IC chips mounted with a drive circuit made of single crystal silicon, and a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements. And a wiring 40 for connecting the driving circuit mounted on each IC chip 30. The plurality of photoelectric conversion elements 20 are seamlessly integrally molded so as to achieve a predetermined arrangement pitch over a predetermined sensor length. The arrangement pitch of the plurality of detection means provided in the drive circuit mounted on the IC chip 30 is equal to or less than the arrangement pitch of the photoelectric conversion elements.
