A more efficient method for determining kinase or phosphatase activity by measuring energy transfer between an energy donor and an energy acceptor. Kinase or phosphatase activity is determined based on a three-part system. The step of contacting the binding partner (metal ion on the bead) capable of binding to the phosphorylated peptide, the detection molecule, and the substrate peptide, wherein the measurement of activity comprises an energy donor (Ru) present on the detection molecule and the substrate molecule. -Achieved by measuring the energy transfer between the luminophore) as well as the energy acceptor (phosphor).
