titleOfInvention Optical structure
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a structural color vividly from any direction by using a principle other than a color (pigment color) by absorbing a part of light like a conventional color material such as a pigment, a pigment and a dye. A non-toxic, chemically stable coloring material for cosmetic compositions is provided. A spherical optical structure having a radius of 500 μm or less comprising a core material and a coating material covering the core material, depending on the refractive index of the medium in contact with the outer surface of the spherical optical structure and the refractive index of the coating material Thus, a spherical optical structure is provided which exhibits a structural color in the visible light region by controlling the particle diameter of the spherical optical structure and the thickness of the coating substance within a predetermined range. Furthermore, the cosmetic color material which consists of a spherical optical structure which exhibits the said structural color, and the cosmetic composition containing the said color material are provided.
