abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and effectively prevent leakage of an untreated gas that passes without contacting a catalyst in a catalyst case in a desulfurization tower, enables high desulfurization, and uses a catalyst. A flue gas desulfurization apparatus and a flue gas desulfurization method capable of reducing the amount are provided. SOLUTION Gas is introduced into a desulfurization tower in a downward flow, and a plurality of catalyst cases 1 are arranged side by side and stacked in a plurality of stages in the desulfurization tower. Among them, a sealing material 12 capable of forming a liquid pool is interposed at least in the gap between the catalyst cases 1 and 1 located at the lowermost stage and the gap between the catalyst case and the inner wall of the desulfurization tower.
