A water-repellent curable composition is provided. According to the present invention, a water repellent curable composition comprises: (i) one or more polyacids comprising at least two carboxylic acid groups, acid anhydride groups, or salts thereof; (ii) at least two One or more polyols containing one hydroxyl group; (iii) a waterproofing agent such as C 5 to C 30 alk (en) yl 2-hydroxyethyl (alk (en)) amide; and (iv) optionally one or more A phosphorus-containing accelerator. The composition provides a concentrate that can be diluted with water to prepare a thermosetting aqueous binder composition. Furthermore, the present invention provides a treatment of a substrate selected from nonwovens, woven fabrics and composites, such as a glass fiber substrate, with the present thermosetting aqueous binder composition, or the aforementioned substrate with the present thermosetting aqueous binder composition. There is also provided a method of contacting a product, further drying and curing, and further a water resistant product produced by the method described above. [Selection figure] None |
