An electrode for electrolysis capable of prolonging the service life is provided. In an electrode for electrolysis in which a metal catalyst and an oxide catalyst 32 are added to a base material 31 made of a conductive ceramic, a binder that dissolves in water when the base material 31 is energized or when the temperature rises. 33 is added. The binder 33 is preferably added in a manner dispersed in the substrate 31.
