abstract A method for detecting a single nucleotide polymorphism of DNA for measuring alternating current impedance is provided. (1) On an electrode surface on which probe DNA (S probe DNA) is immobilized, non-immobilized probe DNA (B probe DNA) and target DNA are placed under conditions capable of hybridization and ligation, and then (2) A DNA detection method for measuring an AC impedance on an electrode surface. S probe DNA and target DNA are complementary except at least one base at the non-fixed end of S probe DNA, B probe DNA and target DNA are complementary, and S probe DNA, B probe DNA and target The DNA has a base sequence in which the non-fixed end of the S probe DNA hybridized with the target DNA and the S probe DNA side end of the B probe DNA are continuous.
