titleOfInvention | Pleiotrophin-binding and non-binding chondroitin sulfate / dermatan sulfate oligosaccharides |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel sulfated oligosaccharide useful as a research reagent for elucidating the structure and function of chondroitin sulfate and dermatan sulfate having various biological activities. Affinity chromatography using a pleiotrophin (PTN) -immobilized column that fragments chondroitin sulfate / dermatan sulfate hybrid chain (E-CS / DS) derived from porcine fetal brain and mediates its neurite outgrowth promoting activity. PTN-binding and non-bonding sulfated oligosaccharides were isolated and purified by chromatography and the like. Furthermore, as a result of structural analysis, the structures of many kinds of novel sulfated oligosaccharides were determined. Among them, the PTN-binding sulfated oligosaccharide can be used as a PTN function regulator that binds to PTN and regulates its function. [Selection figure] None |
