PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new nucleic acid introducing agent using 6-amino-6-deoxychitosan and a method for introducing nucleic acid into cells using the same. A nucleic acid introduction agent for introducing a nucleic acid into a living cell, comprising a 6-amino-6-deoxychitosan derivative having a repeating unit represented by the following chemical structural formula (I). In the formula (I), R preferably represents an intracellular nucleic acid introduction promoting substance (reducing sugar, polyethylene glycol, biotin, etc.) bound by reductive amination or acylation.
